The Early Years

I received my first electric train set in 1969 when I was 7. Each Christmas thereafter included several train accessory presents. My Dad helped me build a 4x3 layout that could be slid under my bed when not in use and lifted on top of my bed when I wanted to operate it. It moved from the bedroom to the garage not long after. This layout hinged on the wall so it could be folded up to allow room for the family car. In 1985, my wife and I bought our house with a large dettached garage/shop. I've now constrcuted two layouts in this location.
